What to do in London
London is big, old and well organized for visitors. The Tower, Westminster and the museums are the first two days; the Harry Potter studio tour and the day trips to Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor and Oxford fill the rest. Public transport reaches everything and contactless cards work on all of it. Coach tours leave from Victoria; walking tours meet at a Tube station.
01
Tower of London and the Crown Jewels
A thousand years of fortress, prison and palace with the Beefeater tour and the jewels. Early-entry tours beat the line at the jewel house.
02
Westminster walk and the Changing of the Guard
Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, timed to the guard change. Two to three hours on foot.
03
Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor in a day
The stones, the Roman baths and Georgian crescents, and the castle. About eleven hours by coach, with entry included or not; check the listing.
04
Warner Bros. Studio: The Making of Harry Potter
The actual sets and props, outside the city. It sells out weeks ahead; tours with transport are the reliable way to get a date.
05
Thames cruise or afternoon tea on a bus
The city from the river between Westminster and Greenwich, or tea and scones on a vintage double-decker past the landmarks.
06
Oxford and the Cotswolds
The colleges and the honey-stone villages in one long day, or Oxford on its own by train. Harry Potter filming sites are in the colleges too.

Questions before you book
How far ahead should I book the Harry Potter studio?
Weeks, and months for school holidays and weekends. If the studio's own site is sold out, tour operators often hold allocations with coach transport from central London.
Can I do Stonehenge and Bath in one day?
Yes. It is the standard coach day, about eleven hours, and adding Windsor makes it a full one. Stonehenge alone is a half day.
How do I book these tours?
Each "See tours" button opens Viator's listings for that experience in London, with live prices, dates, reviews and the cancellation terms. You book and pay there. All Travel Fun earns a commission on bookings made through those links; it does not change what you pay.
Can your agents book tours over the phone?
Our agents book flights. Call to price the flight to London; book the tours on Viator once your dates are fixed.
