What to do in Dublin
Dublin is small, friendly and the hub for the whole island. Trinity's library, the Guinness Storehouse and the pubs are the city; the west coast cliffs, the Causeway in the north and the Wicklow mountains to the south are each a full day by coach with the drive as part of the show. Tours leave from the city center early and return in the evening.
01
Cliffs of Moher and Galway
Across the island to the 700-foot cliffs, the Burren's limestone and an hour or two in Galway. About 13 hours, three of them each way on the coach.
02
Giant's Causeway and Belfast
North across the border to the basalt columns, the rope bridge at Carrick-a-Rede and the Dark Hedges, with time in Belfast or at Titanic Belfast. A long day.
03
Guinness Storehouse and the Jameson distillery
The seven floors of the brewery with a pint at the Gravity Bar, and a whiskey tasting across town. Both are timed tickets.
04
Book of Kells and Trinity College
The ninth-century gospel book and the Long Room library, with a student guide to the college. Timed entry; mornings are calmer.
05
Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough
The monastic ruins by the lakes, Sally Gap and the bog roads an hour south of the city. Half the drive of the coast trips, often with Kilkenny added.
06
Howth cliff walk and seafood
The train to the fishing village, the loop walk above the sea and fish and chips on the pier. A half day you can do on your own or guided.

Why book through Viator
Book the Dublin tours before you fly, without locking yourself in.

- Free cancellation on most experiences
- Cancel up to 24 hours before the start on most listings for a full refund. Plans change; the booking can.
- Reserve now, pay later
- Many experiences let you hold a spot now and pay closer to the date, so you can lock in the popular day without paying before the flight is booked.
- Reviews from people who went
- Ratings and reviews come from travelers who booked that exact tour. Read the recent ones before you choose.
- Compare before you land
- The hotel tour desk sells what it has left that morning. Booking ahead means you pick the operator, the time and the pickup, with the price in front of you.
Cancellation and payment terms are set per listing and shown on Viator before you book. Check them for the tour you pick.
Good to know
- Layers, always
- Four seasons in a day is not a saying here, it is the weather. A waterproof shell and a warm layer, even in July, especially on the cliffs.
- Summer coast tours fill up
- The Cliffs of Moher and the Causeway coaches sell out days ahead in June to August. Book them before the flight if the dates matter.

Questions before you book
Can I see the Cliffs of Moher in a day from Dublin?
Yes. It is the most popular coach day in Ireland: about three hours each way, two hours at the cliffs and a stop in Galway or the Burren.
Do I need to rent a car?
Not for Dublin or for the big day trips, which run by coach. A car makes sense only if you are touring the west for several days.
How do I book these tours?
Each "See tours" button opens Viator's listings for that experience in Dublin, with live prices, dates, reviews and the cancellation terms. You book and pay there. All Travel Fun earns a commission on bookings made through those links; it does not change what you pay.
Can your agents book tours over the phone?
Our agents book flights. Call to price the flight to Dublin; book the tours on Viator once your dates are fixed.
