Where visitors stay in Dublin
Dublin's center is compact and most visitors stay south of the river within a 15-minute walk of Grafton Street. Temple Bar is the pub quarter, loud until late; St Stephen's Green and Merrion Square are the Georgian, elegant side; the Docklands are the new glass hotels by the canal; the north side around Smithfield and Parnell Square is cheaper and quieter; and the airport cluster serves the early flights.

Good to know
- Book early for match days and concerts
- Rugby and football internationals and the big summer concerts fill the city at high rates. Check the dates if your trip is flexible.

Questions before you book
Is Temple Bar too noisy?
At weekends, yes, on the streets with the music pubs. A street or two away is fine, and the location cannot be beaten for a short visit.
Where should I stay for the day tours?
Anywhere central. The coaches to the Cliffs of Moher and the Causeway leave from the city center early in the morning.
How do I book a hotel from this page?
Each "See hotels" button opens Expedia's hotel search for that part of Dublin, with live rates, photos, reviews and the cancellation terms. You book and pay there. All Travel Fun earns a commission on bookings made through those links; it does not change what you pay.
Can your agents book the hotel over the phone?
Our agents book flights. Call to price the flight to Dublin; book the room on Expedia once your dates are fixed.
