Where visitors stay in Punta Cana
Punta Cana is not a town but a coast of resorts, most of them all-inclusive, strung north from the airport. Bavaro is the long central beach with the most resorts and the most to walk to; Cap Cana is the gated upscale enclave south of the airport; Uvero Alto is the quiet far north with the adults-only and the bigger waves; Cabeza de Toro and Punta Cana village sit nearest the airport.

03
Uvero Alto
The far north: newer resorts, many adults-only, a wilder beach and 45 minutes from the airport. Quiet by design.

04
Cabeza de Toro and Punta Cana village
Closest to the airport, with a protected bay, a handful of resorts and the small village with its restaurants and ecological park.
Suits: Short trips, early flights, calm water

Good to know
- Adults-only means adults-only
- Many Uvero Alto and Cap Cana resorts do not admit anyone under 18. Check the listing before booking a family trip.
- Transfer time is a real cost
- Cap Cana is 15 minutes from the airport; Uvero Alto is 45 to 60. On a four-night trip that difference matters.

Questions before you book
Is Punta Cana only all-inclusive?
Mostly, yes. There are a few room-only hotels and condo rentals in Bavaro and the village, but the beach resorts sell packages. See the all-inclusive page for how those work.
Which beach is calmest?
Bavaro and Cabeza de Toro, protected by the reef. Uvero Alto and Macao have bigger surf.
How do I book a hotel from this page?
Each "See hotels" button opens Expedia's hotel search for that part of Punta Cana, with live rates, photos, reviews and the cancellation terms. You book and pay there. All Travel Fun earns a commission on bookings made through those links; it does not change what you pay.
Can your agents book the hotel over the phone?
Our agents book flights. Call to price the flight to Punta Cana; book the room on Expedia once your dates are fixed.
